In the United States, about 23% of high school students wear school uniforms. In Japan, almost all students wear a school uniform. So what are the reasons for and against wearing school uniforms? Some people believe that uniforms help students to focus on school and studying, and not on fashion. They also think that uniforms make all students feel equal. However, other experts believe that students can't show their own style when they wear a school uniform. This stops students from freely expressing themselves. They also think that school uniforms make students bess creative.
In January 2015, the U.S. Department of Education studied how teachers feel about school uniforms. Almost all teachers said that weasing a school uniform improved student behavior. No teachers said that school uniforms had a negative effect on students’ individuality.
