WRITING (A report on a survey)

1. Read the language survey report. How many people are there in the class? How many people watch TV programmes in another language? (Đọc báo cáo khảo sát ngôn ngữ. Có bao nhiêu người trong lớp? Có bao nhiêu người xem các chương trình TV bằng ngôn ngữ khác?)

Answer:

- There are 13 people in the class.

- Only a few people watch TV programmes in another language.

2. Complete the Key Phrases from the text. Which key phrases are followed by a verb in the singular form? (Hoàn thành các Cụm từ khóa từ văn bản. Những cụm từ chính nào được theo sau bởi một động từ ở dạng số ít?)

Answer:

1 - in the group                  4 - Less 

2 - of the class                   5 - few

3 - of the people                6 - nobody

Language point: Contrasting ideas (Ý tưởng tương phản)

3. Find the words but and however in the survey. Do they come at the beginning, middle or end of a sentence? (Tìm các từ but và however trong cuộc khảo sát. Chúng đứng ở đầu, giữa hay cuối câu?)

Answer:

- ".... studying language in the future, but nobody in the group..."

- "However, less then half of the survey..."

- ".... listen to English songs, but only a few people watch TV..."

For example:

Language survey: Report

There are the results of my survey on using foreign languages. The results are from interviews with 15 people in our class of 25 people.

• Learning and speaking

Everyone in the group is learning English as a second language. Three people of them learn more than 2 languges. Howere, half of the group said that they don't speak english outside class, and others speak, but not often. 

• Internet and social media

Only few people in the group spend time on visting websites which are in other languages. Less than half of the survay group post comment or massages in another language.

• Other media

More than half people in the group like listening to English songs, but most of them don't watch TV programmesin another languages.
