By the end of this lesson, students will be able to:
- stress on the most important words of a sentence;
- ask and answer questions related to the topic using superlatives.

PROCEDURE
Play Telephone.
- T divides the class into two teams. Have students stand in either a straight line or a circle. Whisper a sentence into the ear of the first person of each team. That student then whispers the message into the next student’s ear till it reaches the last player in the line. The last player of each team has to say out the sentence in correct pronunciation and intonation to win the game. Afterward, ask the class to point out which words in that sentence were said more strongly than others.

Pronunciation Step 1: Transfer of duties - T tells students that when we speak, we usually stress the important words more strongly than the other words. - T explains that they will practice sentence stress. - T plays the CD and plays the CD again, stopping after each number. Step 2: Perform the duties - Ss repeat. Step 3: Discussion - If Ss have difficulties hearing the differences between the stressed and unstressed words, T could play the CD a third time, if necessary. Step 4: Conclusion - T makes sure that Ss can hear the differences between the stressed and unstressed words | A. Listen and repeat 1. The Sahara is the biggest desert in Africa 2. B. Read the sentences below Step 1: Transfer of duties - T tells students they should read the sentences, decide which words are important for each sentence, and underline them. Have students do the task. Step 2: Perform the duties - Ss do the task, T plays the CD and they should listen and circle the words that are emphasized Step 3: Discussion - Ask students to write the answers on the board Step 4: Conclusion - T plays the CD again, if necessary. Check answers as a class. C. Work with a partner. Have students get into pairs and take turns reading the sentences in B to their partners.
